Wondering if EGMC is right for you? Despite our name, you don't need to be a man, live in Eugene, or identify as gay to join! We value inclusion above all else.

- Can you sing in the tenor or bass range?

Audition Information
Auditions for new members take place before our season's first rehearsal. Reserve your spot today!
Location: First United Methodist Church, 1376 Olive St, Eugene, OR 97401
What to prepare:
- A short solo piece (1-2 minutes) of your choice
- Choose any style: pop, folk, classical - whatever shows your voice best!
During your audition, our Interim Artistic Director, Kendra Taylor, will guide you through some simple sight-reading exercises and vocal warm-ups. The audition is designed to be comfortable and supportive—we want to get to know your voice in a positive environment.
Rehearsal Schedule
Regular rehearsals: Thursday evenings, 6:30-9:30pm
Attendance requirement: 70% minimum to perform
Community building: 1-2 Saturday retreats (9am-5pm) per season
Additional sessions: Technical rehearsals before performances
Don't let the schedule discourage you! We offer flexibility through optional sectionals that count toward attendance. Our Artistic Director can also work with individual circumstances - we're committed to accommodating your needs whenever possible.
Many members arrive early or stay during breaks to socialize and build friendships - the community aspect is just as important as the music!
Choose the concert cycles that fit your life—there’s no full-year requirement!

These are additional optional opportunities for the EGMC family:
Optional Group Voice Class: Grow your vocal technique in a supportive setting on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.
Intersections: Intersections is a select chamber choir drawn from our EGMC members. They rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7:40 to 9:00 PM and perform right alongside the main choir at EGMC concerts!
*The EGMC rehearsal calendar may occasionally shift to avoid conflicts with special observances or long weekends or to include time for sectionals. Any schedule adjustments are always announced well in advance.
